2016 Top 5 iPhone Cases

In 2016, there are more than 100 million iPhones reported in use. Most iPhone users have upgraded their older iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s to the more recently released models: iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s plus, and the new iPhone SE. With the new updates, consumers received higher resolution displays, and with it came a higher out of pocket price tag if one of those screens happens to break. It’s no wonder why the cell phone case market, particularly for iPhones, has become a multi-billion-dollar industry with hundreds of cell phone case manufacturers and thousands of different designs. Undoubtedly consumers shopping for a cell phone case will find that the whole experience may get a little overwhelming.

With this in mind, we’ve decided to do the homework, and to delve deeper into the industry in an attempt to find the 5 best protective cases for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. With such a wide array of cases available for iPhone 6/6s, we decided to use a grading system to help us sort through the clutter and narrow down our top contenders.

We’ve rated each phone case by evaluating how they score under each of the following attributes we felt were most important, and assigned a score from 1 to 5, 5 being the best and 1 worst:

  • Aesthetics – overall look of the case
  • Ergonomics – feel, ease of use, access to buttons and ports
  • Protection – capability to safeguard the entire phone, including the display screen
  • Price – customers’ cost to purchase the case in comparison to other cases
