Everyone Has Their Worms: Apple is bitten by the recall bug

November 26, 2008

A recent post on Fierce Wireless rumors that Apple has ordered a recall for their iPhone 3-G charger. Apple recalled the new, ultra compact A/C power adapter warning that some of the chargers are faulty and potentially dangerous. The two-pin, USB power adapters at issue were distributed with the iPhone in the United States, Canada, Japan, Mexico and several Latin American countries.

Apple reports that the metal prongs on the charger can break off possibly leading to electric shock. This news comes as Apple is trying to get past earlier problems plaguing the iPhone 3G giving it negative publicity. The most notable of these were the alleged problems connecting to AT&T Mobility’s HSPA 3G network.
